Ever had a skin bump with hair growing inside? It’s just so painful and irritating, right? It’s called an ingrown hair. The hair curls and grows inside the skin, without getting out. It’s really annoying. Generally, it can happen a few days after shaving. One of the reasons is the thick dead skin blocking the free growth of hair. It’s really quite problematic.
1. HONEY AND SALT SCRUB :
Ingredients : ;½ cup of honey , ;½ cup of sea salt
Directions : Make a mixture of ;½ cup of honey and ;½ cup of sea salt and rub it gently on the skin while taking a shower. It won’t twitch or hurt. Once applied, we should use a mild, non-irritating soap and water mixture to rinse it off.
2. AVOCADO, ALMOND AND OATMEAL SCRUB :
This acts as a moisturizer. We should use it especially if the skin is dry and needs moisturizing.
Ingredients : 1 mashed avocado, 1/3 cup of ground almonds , ;¾-1 cup of ground oatmeal
Directions : Mix The Ingredients Mentioned Above until you Form a paste , and massage it gently on the skin. Then, You can rinse it off with water.
3. REMOVING THE HAIR SAFELY :
How To Do it :
- First, we need to disinfect the tweezers by soaking it in alcohol.
- Then, exfoliate the skin formed around the ingrown hair.
- Once the dead skin is removed, we should dab the skin with running hot water.
- This will make the skin soft. We are now ready to grasp the hair and pull it with the tweezers.
- It may be a bit painful but once pulled off, You should immediately rinse the spot, and dab it with coconut oil.
– It’ll ease the irritation a lot.
4. MOISTURIZATION :
Even if the skin is not dry, we should invest in some moisturizers and keep the skin moist. Dry skin is always a bit irritating, isn’t it? Moisturizing will also help the ingrown hair to be pushed out and relieve some irritation.
Coconut oil is a good moisturizer, but any would do.
5. A MIX OF HONEY AND ASPIRIN :
This is an odd mixture but it’s extremely helpful for ingrown hair. Aspirin has salicylic acid which helps to moisturize the skin and shed more dead skin. How do you make this mixture?
Ingredients : 3 Tablets of aspirin , 1 Tsp Honey
Directions : Crush The three tablets of aspirin and mix it with the tsp of honey. Apply the paste on the affected area and let it sit for 10 minutes. Use warm water to rinse it off.
6. TREE TEA OIL :
Tree tea oil is an herbal product that is infused with antiseptic properties. It’s great for reducing inflammation and the pain due to ingrown hair.
How To Do it : We should apply this oil with a cotton swab two times a day.
7. A PASTE OF BAKING SODA :
We can slowly bring out the ingrown hair by using a paste of baking soda.
Ingredients : 1 Tsp Bakin Soda , 2 Tbsps Water
Directions : Just add some baking soda in water and make a thick paste out of it. Apply it on the skin in circular motion. We can rinse it off with some water and finally.
Apply coconut oil to moisturize the skin and ease the irritation. It’ll make sure the pores are not getting plugged.
8. EXFOLIATION :
Before shaving, make sure you exfoliate the skin 1-2 days earlier. This helps the hair to grow freely. We could use an exfoliating glove or soap for exfoliation purposes.
